excellent customer service. i needed a repair for a necklace i bought from their online store and they were very friendly, prompt and responsive (emails) through the entire process of how to send the item in and what to expect.
I had high hopes for this company and their products, but I was disappointed with both. ?My mother and I bought a Groupon and used it to ordere one of their popular karma necklaces online, and we were both very surprised when they arrived as they turned out to be so much smaller than they appeared online. ?The site lists the diameter of the ring, but there is no description of the chain thickenss or ring thickness, which were both extremely thin and look more like baby’s jewelry in my opinion. ?It is difficult to judge proportions when there is no reference point in the picture – I think it would be very helpful if they had different images for each item, including an image of the jewelry on a manican. ?I would never have purchased this necklace if I had known it would be so thin – you can barely see it when I put it on. So, if you want to make a purchase, just be aware that the pictures are deceiving, and the charms and chains are extremely thin and small.I contacted customer service about potentially exchanging the necklaces for larger ones Stainless Steel Bangles, and they were not helpful at all. ?They basically told me they do not do exchanges. ?Additionally, I had paid with a Groupon and used a coupon code, and the customer service rep told me I would lose part of my Groupon value and that I wouldn’t be able to use my coupon code if I returned the necklace and ordered a new item because their policy had changed regarding the use of Groupons and coupon codes at the same time. ?However, I explained that when I made my purchase, their policy did allow the use of both, and since I simply wanted to do an exchange (at no cost to them), I felt they should honor what the policy was when I placed my original order. ?The service rep continued to refuse to give in any way. ?I could not understand why Dogeared would rather leave my mother and I disappointed with both the product and company than simply help us to exchange our necklaces for necklaces of identical value – it would be at absolutely NO cost to Dogeared 925 Sterling Silver Jewelry! ?I explained this to the rep, and after many many emails, she pushed it onto her boss, who noted that they would “make a one time exception” to allow me to return my order – like they were doing me a big favor. ?However, they only offered to reinsate my groupon for $40.50 (but it was worth $50), plus I would have to pay shipping both ways. ?I already thought the necklace was way overpriced, so considering all the hassle and frustration I had already gone through, I decided it wasn’t worth it to spend another $15 just to do an exchange and risk having something go wrong and have to argue with them all over again. ?I also think they’re WAAAAAY overpriced to begin with. ?I never would have made a purchase from their store if I didn’t have a Groupon, and I still considered it to be on the pricey side for what you’re getting – there’s no way I’d pay $54 (plus shipping) for this thin thin thin piece of jewelry! ?Overall, the take-home message is that the pictures are deceiving in that they make the jewelry appear to be much bigger/thicker & more durable than it is, and the customer service was really not great either. ?I was disappointed with my experience, and I will certainly not order from them again.

Love love love this store, and although they don’t have a flagship location, I am happy to say that I frequent the online location with my handy dandy plastic. I originally posted a 1 star review for China Fine Art. ?Before posting the previous review, I left a message and email for the owner about what I was going to post in the hopes of coming to a resolution about my concerns before I posted it. ?I did not hear back from the owner until after the review was posted. ?When he called he let me know that he was on vacation and did not receive my message and email until he came back.The net of the previous review was that I thought that the product I purchased from them was overpriced. ?I had come up with a comparable from Macy’s (Which China Fine Art used to supply) that was considerably less expensive and went back to him with my concerns about pricing. ?During the comparison of the two pieces he pointed out that there were some small differences between the them. ?While I am not a jeweler and not able to confirm how much these differences would mean in terms of price for the two rings, I did appreciate him taking the time to go over the differences and to help me understand why the prices might be different. ?Before we finished the conversation, I asked him the following question. ?If my wife (who had returned the original item and bought another) had requested a refund instead of purchasing the new ring, would they have dropped the price to encourage a sale before she left. ?He indeed said he had some wiggle room and that he could work with me on the price more so than what had been offered when my wife purchased it.I appreciated the owner’s willingness to understand my concerns and to address them. ?For that reason Stainless Steel Rings, I have changed my review to 4 stars. ?In the future, I will return and give them an opportunity for future jewelry purchases.

Absolutely the best place to buy jewelry. The selection is always amazing. ?I have been shopping there since the day it opened, and now all of my girlfriends go there too.The owner, Ami, will repair any piece if it brakes (which is rare).Wonderful place, make sure you have enough time when you go – you will not be able to leave before trying on everything they have!
Years ago I discovered Metal Pointu’s while shopping in Paris. ?A month later, I was back in LA and they had opened a shop less than a mile from my apartment! ?I was excited as the style of the jewelry was exactly my taste. ?Over the years, I have bought many many bracelets, rings, necklaces from the store. ?My friends also love the store from themselves and for the fact that they know anything they buy there, I will probably love.At some point the name of the store changed to Avant Garde and I hadn’t been in the shop in a while. ?Today, my good friend needed a gift for his wife’s birthday and since we didn’t find anything at Fred Segal or anywhere else nearby, I thought we’d give AG a chance. ?As soon as we walked in, he found a ring he loved for his wife. ?And then a gorgeous necklace. ?We both loved the selection of jewelry and had trouble narrowing down the best items. ?There was just so much great stuff!I recognized the woman in the store from the last few times I had been in over the years, I think she may be the owner but I’m not sure. ?She was incredibly helpful and kind. ?I mentioned to her that I had recently lost one of my favorite earrings and I couldn’t believe that they had another pair there in the store. ?I considered buying them again, but then she offered to sell me just the one to replace the one I had lost! ?I couldn’t believe it and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to once again be able to wear one of my favorite pairs of earrings!After my friend made all of his purchases, I was ready to re-buy my earring, but ?the woman put it in a little bag and said “here you go!” ? Still a five star shop but now I have absolutely no doubts. ?I have been back in LA for just over a week and have been trying to get to this store after work and before they close every day. ?I finally made it in today and was ready to buy. ?I had a dinner reservation in 40 minutes so I actually was ready to buy FAST.As soon as I entered, the very nice lady who always works there approached me to offer help. ?I said I was looking for another pendant similar to the one I was wearing, which I also bought in this store. ?She looked at my pendant and asked me if I would like her to clean it. ?I do love stores that do this, even though I was a little embarrassed by how unpolished I had kept it. ?So, she went to clean it as I browsed.She returned shortly thereafter without the necklace, having left it in the back to be cleaned, and helped me pick out a few necklaces I like. ?I browsed a little longer and chose two stunning pendants to purchase.I approached the register expecting to receive my old necklace when I checked out. ?There were two necklaces at the counter, however: my pendant on its ratty old chain and another just like it on a nice shiny new chain. ?She explained to me that although they cleaned my pendant and it looked pretty good, there were some dark spots ON THE BACK and since they couldn’t get them off, she was going to give me a new necklace just like my old one. ?I have had my necklace for nearly three years so I would expect some age spots so I was floored that she was exchanging my old one for a brand-new one, completely for free.Not only does this store have beautiful jewelry but the customer service is exemplary. ?I will always return here when I am in town and they now have a lifetime customer

It would be difficult to write a review that would give this wonderful store justice! Every time I stop at Avant Garde I can’t help myself to try on almost everything they have and leave with a few pieces. The creativity is amazing and the costumer service exemplary. One of my favorite place to shop in LA. Always a good spot to find a gift or send a friend. Over the years I have bought many, many pieces there, and still love them all today. The quality of the craftsmanship is rare to find and if anything goes wrong, the owners will fix it no question asked (rare to find in this city). Just one of my favorite store!

A dear friend, who is a goldsmith, suggested I go to Regency, when I wanted to have a necklace repaired. This was back in the late 90′s and Regency has been my go-to jewelry repair and retail shop ever since. I own a lot of vintage pieces, and Regency is able to do cleaning and repairs with the attention to detail, those pieces require. Bob is an expert appraiser, and always has interested new and vintage pieces in the display cases. With the added convenience of parking in the back of the building, what is not to love about this place!
I’d been going to a jeweler in Santa Monica for prong tightenings since 2007. ?After inconsistent and unwelcoming experiences there, I posted an honest negative review which blew up in my face (many harassing phone calls from the business, slanderous responses to my review, etc.). ?So… this time when I had a loose prong, I was without a “regular” jeweler to go to.Lots of yelp searching later, I landed on Regency. ?I’m so glad I did!I walked in yesterday around noon Shamballa Bracelets, expecting to drop my ring off, be told to return in a week to pick it up, and be charged anywhere between $50-100… because that’s what I’m used to for this repair.I handed my ring to the woman behind the counter. ?She complimented it, took it into the back room, and came back out to chat. ?I felt a little awkward, not sure why she was making conversation instead of giving me a claim slip and sending me on my way. ?About 90 seconds later, I heard “it’s done!” from the back room. ?I’m sorry, what?When she handed my ring back and I took out my wallet, she winked and said “oh, there’s no charge for this, dear.”I walked out of that place beaming. ?What a difference from what I’m used to!The jewelry under the counter was gorgeous… plenty of eye candy to look at while I was waiting. ?Regency will be my first stop next time I’m in the market for a new piece of jewelry (which Wholesale Jewelry, sadly, doesn’t happen as often as I’d like). ?After the perfect service experience I had yesterday, I don’t really want to go anywhere else!
Exceptional service, value, and work. ? I had a ring sized, same day, for a reasonable price. ?I had a broken watch that I took to two other shops. One said, ?$200 or forget it, one said, $60 but I really don’t want to and you better pay in advanc. I could not believe other watch repair shops turned down work! ?They did not do that here, they gladly fixed the watch, for only $35. ?I like their work ethic and great customer service.

Regency Jewelry is the best jeweler in town!i took a ring in for repair. needed to replace a prong holding the center stone in place. they repaired the prong, polished the stone and cleaned the ring. when i went to pick it up, it looked like a new ring.the owner is incredibly nice + helpful.i went back a few weeks ago to have him look at a pair of diamond earrings that i received for a gift. ?just needed him to check the color and size. he looked at them, gave me his expert opinion on the quality, cleaned them and didn’t charge me anything!he’s got a customer for life. they also sell beautiful estate jewelry. if you’re looking for a unique gift, this is the place to go.
They are very good at fixing jewelry, but some of the people working there ?are sometimes not very tactful. ?Others are very helpful
I went here based on Jason M’s rec and the fact that it’s a stone’s throw from my apartment and had a similarly helpful experience. They replaced a screw back on an earring for me, it took less than ten minutes and, best of all, free parking Body jewelry!
They did a nice job resizing my engagement ring…they did it ?the same day for only $40. Also, they were friendly and gave us a lot of information about the ring. Really good experience.
